Dustin Craig grew up in Wyoming and competed in his first horse trials at age 11. Over the years, he has taken many horses through the levels including showing “Nap for Sycamore” at the USEA/USEF Advanced Level in Eventing.

Dustin Craig grew up in Wyoming and competed in his first horse trials at age 11. Over the years, he has taken many horses through the levels including showing “Nap for Sycamore” at the USEA/USEF Advanced Level in Eventing.
Dustin’s main interest lies in starting and training young prospects He has started and trained horses of almost all breeds and for nearly every discipline, including western and in-hand classes.
Dustin enjoys camping and other similar outdoor hobbies. He has a Bachelor of Animal Science degree from the University of Wyoming.

Dustin is a member of Piedmont Fox Hounds and Snickersville Hounds, taking many young horses out for their first introductions to Fox Hunting. He also takes more experienced hunters out that are or will be available for sale.

In addition to starting young horses, we also are very skilled in working with problem or difficult horses.
As our experience shows, there is no specific rule or method that fits all horses. In general, horses are saddled and taught to lunge and be ground driven before being backed. This allows for a more clear understanding of aids and impulsion as well as establishing a strong work ethic in a confident horse. Our recommendation for a proper foundation is a 2-3 month stay at WestWind Farms
After 90 days of training, you will have a healthy, confident, relaxed horse that will be soft, supple and forward in the ring and hacking out alone and with others on and off the property. Every horse will have an individual training program specific to his or her needs and the goals of the owner.
WestWind Farms also has experience in most western events and has worked with every type of horse from the un-touched ranch horse to the world-class sport horse. They will also evaluate and train your difficult or problem horses.
Starting and training offered at $65 per day. Monthly updates including pictures and video/DVD are available by request.
